I have been Provost some time now. I took the Spire from its weakness, and through
my activity and discipline, we are now strong, the fetish secure, and the Outlanders
broken. I am impressed, to say the least, though not because of the facts
that are, but that it happened so quickly.

I knew that I would fill this mantle easily, and be successful, but
what surprises me is how easily the savages broke ranks and scatter. It shouldn't,
really, but I had expected some battles against bitterly entrenched foes who
would give up each step over blood and death.

Surprising how easily they broke.

Now I will work to strengthen the Spire as well as I can, preserve it against
the day the cycle turns and we are again embattled. I will do this by grooming
Magistrates, and see if a worthy successor may come forward. Though I am still relatively
young, I know that time passes quickly, and this must be planned for. I am no
Gianath, to throw my hands up in despair, nor am I a Lamayinn, mothering the
Magistrates and coddling them. Instead, they will grow hard and lean under my
watch, stronger for it.
