Description

A petite woman with long locks of hair, flowing like a golden river down her
small body, is before you. Though small, she does not seem weak, her arms
have a slight tone to them, her legs look strong and firm. Violet eyes, a
trait handed down from elven blood, are slightly almond-shaped. Her lips are
thin, her nose small, her cheeks are bony and high. Sharp ears sprout from
her golden locks, another sign of elvish heritage. Her body seems to sashay
as she takes each step, it is hard to tell if this is with purpose, or just
how she naturally walks.

This song was made by Telene to show others her pained youth with her father.
While not complete, Telene stopped working on this one when she realized no
one cared.

Telene plucks the strings of the guitar in a lovely melody, starting slowly.

Moonlight on a maiden all alone.
Mud stains on her tatterd dress.
Cant you see, you drove me from home?
Cant you see that I'm all a mess?

Telene strums the guitar, quickening the pace before going back to the lovely
melody.

Dont you see the darkness in your hand?
Do you hear me make my final stand?
With each bottle that you drink, with each you cast,
Your little princess dies!

Telene strums the guitar and sings in a high wail.

Oh father, can't you see! Father can't you see?
That I bleed from the wounds you've cut so deep.
Running from shattered bottles as I weep.
Oh Father can't you see! Father can't you see...?

Telene strums in abrupt cords with the tune.

What is wrong, dont you love her?
Wasnt it enough, you lost mother!

Wail into the darkest night!

Telene switches back to the plucking of the strings.
Telene sings in a mournful tone.

Chapter 7

The Minstrel of Sorrow.

After speaking with Lady Iunna. Telene fell into a deep depression refusing
to sing to anyone. She gave a promise to her love, Lasentia for a single last
performance. But after she would never sing again. Until then, Telene would
keep her lute as a keepsake but would never again put it to her lips.

This is the last record of the songs she wrote before she stopped singing.
This song was about a Minotuar named Guktuh who assaulted Telene on eastern
randomly many years ago.

Telene hops up on the bar and claps to the rhythem of a marching song.
Guktuh tried to kill me! I thought he was a villager.
Yes, he tried to kill me! Now that him's a her!
We danced and we swung and sung and we speared!
We laughed 'till we cried the day he disappeared!
Guktuh tried to kill me! He's not a villager!
I stabbed him in his man-parts and now that him's a her!
But if you try to find him, they say he got a star.
On the roof we could see it, but hey that's way too far!
Guktuh tried to kill me but I'm way too strong.
Yes, he tried to kill me until it all went wrong!
Poor Tisan, and Mister Blarg will never find again.
A female as bovine as Guktuh. Who now is ddeeeeaadd!

Chapter 6

The fall of a Nexun, the rise of the Herald.

In her wallowing, Telene began to write songs and perform them
at the inn. Turning her sorrow into delight for the listeners.
The High Herald, Uial spoke with Telene about performing
with the rest of the Heralds. Telene, though nervous, took the
matter into consideration. It had been many years since she
fell from the balance, and she knew that she would never be
able to complete her promise to the Nexus. Her sorrow was
too deep, her skill was with her words, not with magics.

Eventhough she would forever miss the feeling of mana running
trough her veins, it was an addiction to her. Much like her
drinking, she could not continue to seek these magics, it
would only pull her further from Lasentia, her love.

Among the commoners it was said that Telene gave up on magics
because of the falling of her old Dwarven friend, Nghichngom.
The Dwarf was a true inspiration, and a friend among the Nexuns
even after her falling. She would never be able to fill her
oath to him, and with this, it was said she never spoke of it
again unless asked.

Chapter 5

Magic

It was like she had been cursed by the God of Magic from birth.
Or that she was missing something critical in her application.
And yet, her love, Lasentia kept pushing her on. No matter how
depressed she became, with each failed spell, Lasentia pushed
Free from the bindings of the Nexus, Telene began to understand.
She was burdened only by her own sorrow, her envy kept her from
attaining what she had been seeking all of her life. She began
to speaking with the strongest of mages, trying to learn of
their awesome power. She took deeper study of the practical
application of magics. She had been trying for many years
to get the incantations to work properly. To no avail.

harder. It was through many years of slow, painful attempts
at magics, that Telene decided she needed more aid than just
her own hands. She looked to the heavens and prayed for the
answers, truly she wanted to know why she was cursed with
such a fate.

She made a vow the Nghichngom, the Rhyme of the Nexus.
"I will not ever rejoin the Nexus again, lest I become a mage.
I do not wish to protect mages any longer, I have always wished
to be one, just never had the proper schooling."
And so she had likely doomed herself to an eternal exile from
the nexus, but that did not stop her resolve. Lasentia said
that she could find a way to learn the secrets of the Magi.
But Telene has always been full of doubt and sadness.
Perhaps one day she would have what she seeks.
Perhaps she will wallow in despair for the rest of her Mortal life.

Chapter 4

Fallen from balance.

Telene's love runs deep. A fire she never thought resided there.
Though the many years with Lasentia by her side.
All the heartache and pain Telene has been though, was starting
to wear on her. The battles, the darkness, the pain, while they
fueled her skill to fight, the toll was too great.
In her deep despair, she lost the will to fight for the balance
she once sought. Her scars were too deep, she had fought so hard,
only to cause more pain for her love.

Telene had fallen from the balance, torn from it, for the pain
and depression that made her drive toward the balance was also
what brought her from it. It was the herald of a new chapter
in Telene's life. She rested sword for quill, sorrow for love.
Soon Telene was to be married to the beautiful elf maiden, Lasentia.

Perhaps Telene would be free from her sorrow, but that never does
seem to last for long. Telene would miss the Nexus, the island.
But more than the people, she would miss the magic that ran
through her. How she could feel the veil. It made her feel like
a mage.Her dream, her envy, her sorrow. For all the time she
spent within the nexus, she realized she hadn't been learning
how to use magic. She just learned how to channel it out of devices.
Her despair grew deeper, she had no teacher, and despair seemed to
take her whenever she thought about it.

Love soothes old pain.

In the many years, Telene has learned much of magics and power.
She sings her songs with a perfection only attained by years
of practice. She learned songs of great power that caused
the village to fear her. Yet she knew she would never be
as powerful as a mage. Her envy was great, but she still
thirsted for more power.

She had been brooding for many years. Wondering why she
had this accursed fate. Why had the gods not blessed her with
the insight of magic? The question sunk her deeper into the
dark depths of her depression. But even in the darkness there
was light. Her heart was filled with song at the sight of
Lasentia, a wood-elf maiden. Their bond grew strong, a love
that Telene had not ever considered. Always concerned about
men and always being betrayed and hurt. Lasentia healed her
deep wounds of her past just by being there for her

The memories of her abusive, drunk elven father faded from
memory in the presence of the lovely maiden. Perhaps her
mother rested in peace. However, Telene had a theory that
her mother still haunted her father from the grave. Atleast
until he met his fate as well.

Chapter 2

Magic

Durring her many travels, Telene learned that she could affect the balance of
the world. With many discussions with Rowane, a kooky transmuter, she decided
it was best to learn of these forces of balance. To preserve what she saw in
the many lands she saw. Speaking the the Rhyme, Telene joined the nexus in
the fight to protect Thera. Eventhough young, she helped out the others best
she could. Her words soothed their pain and made them strong. Soon, Telene
became very interested in magical devices. She wanted to study and use them.

It wasnt until some years later that she became better at using these
devices. It is said, she once found a magical box of great wonders. It blew
up in her face. While her eyebrows recovered from the vicious blast, she kept
studying...less explosive devices.

Despite what people say of Telene, her personality always seemed to be very
upbeat, but only when she was intoxicated. She becomes very, very depressing
when she has not had a drop of liquor. Which is why she is intoxicated most
all the time. Aside from her obvious drinking problem, Telene envies mages
for their power. It is this envy that keeps her driving forward, to perfect
her own song, to learn magic, to become a mage of sorts in her own rite.

Her story continued on for many years as a keeper of balance.

Chapter 1

The Minstrel of Sorrow.

Telene, the traveling minstrel, was born in darsylon but raised by the road.
Many of her younger years were spent traveling Thera, seeing the sights,
meeting the people, and singing for coppers. The young performer was always a
handful to her band. Once, she nearly caused a full riot singing an elven
song of war in the dwarven kingdom of Akan. Luckily the whole band was fleet
of foot, and aside from a few bruses, they escaped relatively unharmed.

It was then that Telene started to realize the power of her words. She could
inspire a village of dwarves to chase after her band. It was not until her
father died, and she returned to darsylon for the rites, that she realized
her true power. She sung a truly sorrowful song at the funeral, of a little
girl, abandoned by her father, who became a minstrel of sorrow. The even the
elves who attended the funeral were weeping.

She began to work on this power she had been granted. The power granted by
her envy of the world. Her words could be as daggers in the hearts of those
that oppose her, wearing at their morale, sapping their strength, striking
fear into their hearts. She realized this was her calling and set out with
harp in hand to shape the world as she saw fit. She sought what everyone else
seemed to have, love, power, and money but for her these things did not come.
Though she was quite beautiful, she could never see it in herself. Though
she never went hungry, she always felt she needed more coin, but power, she
found power in her words. Her envy would be her power over others. Her words
would bend them to her will and bring her what she desired.
