Chapter 9

A Quiet Interlude During the Siege

Maddening, that's what it is. The so-called Empress and her minions
sit outside, waiting to use their filthy magic to summon him and his
compatriots one by one to an inevitable doom by the Imperial hordes.

Afraid to come into the Village and fight, but sure enough in their
own victory outside, they lay siege to the Village. Meanwhile, the
Assassin Zikat prowls the area around the massive giant, stalking one
of them. A helpless feeling, being completely unable to bring the
assassin out of the shadows in any way.

Woldrun relaxes slightly, and a faint smile comes to his lips. He will
remain next to the Destructor, and await what comes. Patience is something
he has the ability to show, sometimes. And at the Destructor, he will find
a death worth dying, not some sword through his chest without a chance to raise
his blades.

Now his companions speak of needing to rest. It shall be an end, but such
an end! A glorious battle, hopefully taking one with him.

As he waits, his thoughts drift toward the possibility of being
named the new Drillmaster. Most of the current Villagers fight with Courage,
so that part of his duty would be relatively simple, at least at first.
Several of them do not know enough about terrain, nor good tactics
in combat - that is something he can and will instruct them on.
