Blaze of Glory

Woldrun sits on the ground next to the skull throne. Even as Commander, he knows he is
not worthy of it. His blood cools slightly and he begins to breathe more deeply.

Not much time left, now. His vitality wanes, in part due to his own reckless behavior. Reckless, but
not stupid. At least not in his own mind. Woldrun grows weary of the waiting game, the baiting
games...let's fight, he thinks.

Why did he accept the Lady Yean's challenge? He could have taken to his grave long ago,
earning a respite. So many reasons. He wasn't sure of the leadership the Village would have
if he fell. Duty. Bah. Most importantly, when the Lady of the crossed sword and flute offers
you a challenge, you do not turn it down. Serving Lady Yean is about constantly challenging yourself.
To do anything less would be to disgrace himself, and her along with him.
