Chapter 1

Duels and Discoveries

Gramoak found out more about his father after a most unpleasant journey to
Enlilth's Shrine.

Many considered it stupid for Gramoak to fight Enlilth, and even Gramoak
questioned the sanity of it. However after a few brief talks and
mutual(respectful on Gramoak's part) insults it was clear that this duergar,
Enlilth, was the antithesis to Gramoak's holy path. He was also bothered by
the fact that after his disgrace his father had fled up North of Udgaard to
join his mountain-going kin, but hadn't been heard from. After hearing
Enlilth had dwarven slaves, Gramoak was resigned to a gentleman's duel.

Not because Gramoak that he could win, but because Gramoak believed(s) that
someone had to stand up to him, despite his immortal prowess. Sometimes one
must fight a battle not because they will win or lose, but because it is
there. It was with this mindset that Gramoak stood as long as he could
against Enlilth's tremulous blows simply to show that he would not back down
to his vile ways. After a short talk, Gramoak was forced to believe the worst
about his father and Enlilth's vile bottomless pit of corruption and greed.
Gramoak left the temple with his beard bloody but proud as he knew he had at
the least done his best and fought with every ounce of rage and courage he
could muster from the Stone.
