Chapter 1

Summary
Added Mon Sep 26 15:14:17 2005 at level 1:

Braeburn was born in Mortorn, into a family of little renown. The youngest of
12 children, he was considered the runt, and often relegated to menial tasks
around the homestead, while his older, larger, stronger brothers hunted and
mined.

This made him eager to show what he can do. A trait that lives on in present
day.

This also made him eager to stand up for the poor and abused. Someone must stand
for those too weak to lift their voice. Someone must raise their voice and
hammer if needed, to see that the weak are afforded Justice.

Braeburn once heard a tale of a dwarven zealot who fought off 27 duergar axe
wielders while defending his homestead. In the end, the dwarf killed all the
duergar, but later succomed to the poison of their blades. It's said this
dwarf's spirit rose to the azure fields, and was greeted by Thror, BoltThrower,
Holtzendorff, Aarn and even Shokai. (Though Shokai was just there to guard the
ale cart: all those pesky birds are good for!)

This dwarf's name was Graegorn. His beard was blessed as he entered the azure
fields, and it's said he looks down on all dwarven zealots and priests. In his
rush to eageraly please his father, Braeburn ran off and joined with a local nut
job, who swore Graegorn's spirit walked the lands. So now Braeburn prays for a
life worthy of Graegorn's legend. A life empowered by Graegorn's spirit, in the
name of Justice for the weak.
