Fratricide

Im going to kill you Eeka! Was a phrase that just about everyone in the
Windgust family had heard being thrown around by any one of her brothers and
sisters. It wasnt until one of them actually tried to carry it out that
Eeka began to wonder about life under the clan.She had grown accustomed to
dodging magic missiles and nursing chilling touch wounds, even had a severe
burn from a wall of fire that scared her arm for good. But it was when her
elder brother of half-drow descent beguiled her to sleep with the word and
then used a wand of powerful magic on her that she decided they were playing
for keeps. Being woken from a forced slumber by an explosive fireball sent
Eeka into a rage and in that rage she became the first Windgust ever to have
committed fratricide. Cause and response did not matter at that point, for a
Windgust was dead and Eeka was the culprit. If Eeka had been able to channel
she might have been met with a different response, but as it stood the only
Windgust that couldnt touch the source had killed one that could. Her
time as a Windgust had come to an end, her mother told her that herself. The
next morn her father would turn her over to the town magistrates for summary
execution if she did not escape into the night. Which she did, while swearing
to rid the Windgust name of its dependency to magic.
