A Call to Freedom

In the language of men, there is a word, Tameable.

The wild mustang is tameable. Rope a mustang while she munches the long grasses,
and she will first seek flight. Denied that solace, she will fly into a whirlwind of deadly
hooves and bucking. Eventually, tired and exhausted, she will learn to submit to the
chain around her neck. She seeks life at any cost without understanding her own
purpose, and thus loses control of both.

The zebra is not tameable. Rope a zebra and you already have done well as the
finest hunters, for the zebra does not allow any who she does not trust to draw even
remotely near. The zebra will first attempt to flee as well, but at the first stubborn
pull she will turn around and charge whoever holds the rope. Careless of her own
life in the moment freedom is denied, she will fight without pause until she is free
or dead. When captured instead of killed, her viciousness will only redouble each time
she regains her strength. More hunters in the wastes and savannahs are slain
by the zebra than by the lion.
