Under the commander we had, parity was stressed. I don't believe that as a defender Olum was exempt. Also, I didn't have many non-berserkers to gang with, so it was easier to just not gang.

I am a bit defensive mostly because I expected better from Tavlin than to speak as if all villagers were gank happy, but I think that might be a bit of Twist (the person) bleeding through. I played a few ragers in a row and it gets really old being constantly accused of ganging, especially from a respected enemy, but doubly so when you know you are going out of your way to NOT gang (and subsequently you die horribly to Chulun over and over.)

No need to respond, I just wanted it to be clear why I was defensive.
